Rally in Bangalore Today

BANGALORE: The anti-reservation agitation is gathering steam in Bangalore too. Medicos, junior doctors,engineering students, B-school students and IIT alumni will take out a rally on Sunday to protest the proposal to increase reservation. The march will start from Bangalore Medical College and culminate at Raj Bhavan. On Saturday, students of Bangalore Medical College and IIT alumni triggered of an SMS campaign inviting youths to join their protest. The SMS read: "Tomorrow, we,d youth of b'lore are having protest rally from Bangalore medical college to rajbhavan in protest against reservation in post graduate courses and condemning the delhi police behaviour. It's d time to show our strength. Pl come wid d fire n passion inside u coz v r youth 4 equality. Get ur friends pl fwd this msg to all ur friends irrespective of course, age, job." Posters with similar messages were pasted on the walls of various colleges. "We expect at least 800 students to join us on Sunday. We would be joined by different students from different colleges.

Even some who are working on Sunday have promised to join us," said Anurag Arora, a student of Bangalore Medical College.
